What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Lead - 2nd Shift Packaging position at Standard Process Inc.?
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Under the direction of the Supervisor, the Leads are responsible for assisting with all aspects of day-to-day operations including resolution of product, personnel, and process issues. The Lead person provides direction and support for operators. They function as the primary back-up for the Supervisor. Since Leads have a high contact with operators, it is expected that they are role models of the companies’ core values – specifically teamwork, integrity, and innovation. The Lead is responsible for assisting in the driving of all department operations in a manner that meets company standards for safety, quality, delivery, and productivity.
WHAT LEADS DO:
- Ensure that all safety regulations and Good Manufacturing Practices are being followed
- Provide support and direction to operators to ensure that processes are operating at target safety, quality, and performance targets
- Provide support and direction to operators to ensure paperwork and all related processes are completed accurately and in a timely manner
- Participate in Continuous Improvement activities, helping to drive problem solving
- Troubleshoot product and machine related issues
- Assist supervisor in developing and implementing departmental goals
- Assist supervisor in employee development activities
- Assist supervisor in prioritizing production
- Assist the supervisor in developing and implementing the required training for the operators to ensure all regulatory and quality standards are met
- Assist supervisor with the administration of progressive discipline
- Provide operator performance feedback to Supervisor to assist with performance evaluations
- Communicate with other departments and work with them to share good ideas as well as solve problems
- Role model teamwork between shifts and departments
SPECIALIZED SKILLS:
- Communicate in an effective and professional manner, even when under pressure
- Successfully prioritize tasks in order to meet expected completion times
- Coach and motivate following the SP CARE model
- Trouble shooting product/machine/process related issues
WHEN YOU WILL DO IT:
- 2:00 – 12:30am Monday-Thursday, or as job responsibilities require
- FOUR DAY WORK WEEKS!
- THREE DAY WEEKENDS!
