What are the responsibilities and job description for the Co-Op Engineer position at Standex?
The Electrical Engineering Co-op will complete electrical engineering-related tasks in support of the Engineering department in the development and production of power magnetic products with a focus on planar transformers and inductors. The position will allow for exposure to the technology, test processes, and manufacturing environment at Standex Electronics and will aid in the professional development of the co-op.
What You'll Do
- Learn basics of planar transformer and inductor design.
- Assist with prototyping activities of planar power magnetic products; consisting of reviewing customer inputs, generating design outputs and performing component verification.
- Complete Bill of materials, Engineering drawings (Solidworks/AutoCAD), PCB gerber designs under engineering supervision.
- Perform hands-on testing, modelling, and analysis of planar components.
- Partner with a team of multi-disciplinary engineers to collectively create/enhance tools for improved design accuracy.

Preferred Curriculum
- Pursuing a degree in Engineering or Engineering Tech (EE/EET/ME preferred)
