What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping Clerk position at Standex?
The Shipping Clerk will support the Shipping team to achieve effective distribution of goods. The Shipping Clerk must be a highly organized, detail-Oriented, person. They must be able to follow multi-step processes, easily take direction, and check their own work for accuracy to eliminate mistakes. The Shipping Clerk is encouraged to be involved in the project cycle from creative solution, development, and project completion, to ongoing process improvement. The successful candidate would have an entrepreneurial mindset and would seek improvement in all facets of the position.
What You'll Do
- Communicate with logistics providers to coordinate and schedule pick-ups.
- Process shipments by referencing customers' routing guides and company policies.
- Generate freight / shipping quotations per customers' or sales representatives' requests.
- Perform accurate data entry of tracking numbers into internal system and web portal.
- Interact with customers (internal and external) and carriers to assure customer satisfaction.
- Communicate any unresolved issues to supervisor in a timely manner.
- Other duties as assigned.
