POSITION: PROCESS SERVER
STANDING ROCK TRIBAL COURT
SCOPE OF POSITION:
The Process Server is responsible for expediting service of all court documents for the Standing Rock Tribal Court with the reservation.
SUPERVISION:
The Process Server will work under the supervision of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribal Court, Chief Clerk of Court, who will provide guidance, direction and conduct performance evaluations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serve all court documents (summons, subpoenas, restraining orders, notice of hearings, etc.) for the court on a daily basis.
- Coordinate daily activities with Clerk of Courts in Civil, Criminal and Children’s Court in regards to paperwork that is to be served.
- Maintains documentation and log of activities and contacts of served paperwork on a daily basis.
- Submit a clear and concise monthly report of paperwork that was served.
- Maintains gas and mileage logs on assigned GSA vehicle on a daily basis and submit Mileage & Maintenance report on a monthly basis.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED with experience in a court system or similar field.
- Efficient in computer programs, email and standard office machines, (copy, fax, printer)
- Strong communication skills with ability to work with the general public
- Possess valid driver’s license and meet insurability requirements.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Abide by Code of Ethics and sign confidentiality statement established by the court
- Submit log of paperwork that was served at the end of each day.
- Testify at hearings and/or trials if required.
- Communicate with local law enforcement and detention centers, and other jurisdictions.
- Act as Bailiff during Jury Trials.

No Tribal housing is available. The position is located at the Standing Rock Sioux Tribal Court Building, Fort Yates, ND 58538.
