Yard Maintenance

Position Summary

Perform tasks as assigned to maintain the Standlee Premium Products Eden property. This includes yard maintenance, spraying, weed control, cleaning, painting and other duties as assigned. Follow standard work methods and practice safe work habits utilizing all available PPE to ensure that jobs are always completed with safety as the top priority.

This position profile identifies the key responsibilities and expectations for performance. It cannot encompass all specific job tasks that an employee may be required to perform, employee is required to follow any other job-related instructions and perform job-related duties as assigned by his/her supervisor.

Key Performance Areas (Essential Functions of the Position)

• Performs work as assigned by department manager or supervisor
• Follow and be able to complete a task list
• Ability to communicate progress of projects, resources needed and resources used to complete projects
• Ability to operate various hand tools and operate a UTV on Standlee property (training provided)
• Ability to identify areas that need to be addressed and communicate that need to department leadership
• Tier II and tier III need to have the capacity to lead other team members on project tasks as well as effectively train and develop team members they are assigned to work with
• Ability to keep inventory of all tools and supplies needed to successfully complete tasks and ensure tools are properly maintained and put away.
• Work will be primarily outside in elements and successful candidate will be able to adjust to climate and weather changes.

Experiences / Education Requirements

• Required to perform basic math
• Experience with hand tools and ability to identify areas of risk and PPE needed to eliminate that risk
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Property maintenance experience preferred

Working Conditions

Primarily Outdoor Environment:

Work is regularly performed outside in the surrounding grounds and facilities (with UTV and tools). Because of this, employees are frequently exposed to adverse weather conditions including extreme heat, cold, wind, rain and snow. Lighting varies based on the season, weather and conditions in the plant. Employees regularly work near moving mechanical parts, material handling equipment and are exposed to ergonomic hazards, noise and dust.

Physical Requirements:

The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

Work is fast paced, and employees are expected to perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor, therefore they must have excellent stamina, be in good physical condition and capable of handling objects up to 75 pounds in weight. Individuals must also have good eyesight, hearing and better than average coordination in order to keep up with production equipment. In addition to these requirements employees are regularly required to sit or stand for extended periods of time, reach, bend, climb, and walk about the facility and production areas.
