The Commercial Loan Assistant (CLA) provides support to the Commercial and Business Department through various job functions. The CLA is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely set up of loans on the commercial LOS system and the credit union's core system. The CLA also completes boarding and disbursing of loans. The CLA performs certain tasks to ensure proper documentation and compliance under policies, procedures and NCUA regulations of all new loan originations, which include UCC filing, credit pulls, tax verification, and flood determinations. Under the supervision of the Director Credit Administration the CLA engages and coordinate appraisals, environmental reports, and site inspections, as well manage third party vendors. The CLA assists the Commercial Banking Officers in portfolio management tasks including collecting financials from members, following up for property taxes and insurance.

Who YOU are:
- You must be an energetic individual with an attention to detail and enjoy working in a collaborative environment.
- Be inquisitive and have want to learn all aspects of Commercial Lending.
- Bachelor's degree, plus one year of residential or commercial lending experience preferred.
- Ability to perform necessary computer related input, with knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Effective verbal and written communication, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
- Ability to interpret and apply regulatory requirements for state specific documents.
- Ability to assist in maintaining and updating operational procedures.
What YOU’LL do:
- Every day in the Commercial Lending Team, the Commercial Loan Assistant provides essential support in the processing, underwriting and documentation of commercial loans. We provide exceptional client service to internal and external partners and support our Commercial Loan Origination team in all aspects of the loan process to ensure that we are delivering a seamless lending experience to our clients.
- Set up new loans on LOS system and core system, including relationship profile, opening membership deposit account, and assigning loan number.
- Ensure loans are boarded and disbursed on core system accurately, including reconciliation of GL, verifying wire instructions, disbursement of checks. Accurately update loan covenants, risk rating, financial reporting, and loan review dates on core system.
- Engage and coordinate third party reports, including appraisal, environmental reports, and site inspections.
- Complete due diligence tasks including but not limited to preparing & filing 4506C, pulling credit reports, filing UCC's and completing flood determinations.
