The Member Engagement Specialist (MES) is responsible for providing uncompromising service by building enduring relationships, communicating, referring, and selling products to meet members' needs. 90-day onboarding and at-risk member retention will be key areas of focus. As part of Sales & Member Engagement Team, the Member Engagement Specialist works closely with and supports the Relationship Managers (RMs) in their efforts to acquire, retain and increase member engagement through a variety of sales and service activities.
This position cross-sells traditional and nontraditional products and services while maintaining existing member relationships and developing new member relationships. Member Engagement Specialist must be accurate, organized, alert and articulate while working in a position with little or no supervision. They must establish rapport that encourages further engagement. Can manage multiple tasks in a constantly moving environment.

Who YOU are:
- Two to Four years' experience in opening new accounts in a financial institution and sales related field.
- A high school degree or equivalent.
- Previous sales experience preferred.
- A significant level of trust, credibility and diplomacy is required. In-depth dialogues, conversations and explanations with members, direct and indirect reports and outside vendors can be of a sensitive and/or highly confidential nature.
- Demonstrate highest levels of member service and discretion when dealing with the public
What YOU’LL do:
- Onboarding excellence: Proactively learns about current or potential goals of members and offers appropriate financial solutions. Proactively follows-up with new members via all digital channels and in person to ensure a positive experience.
- Deepening SEG memberships and Ambassador relations: Research and proactively contacts existing members to retain and expand relationships with appropriate financial solutions.
- As necessary, work with all business partners within SFCU to follow up on transactions in progress through an RM or the business development channel. Ensure member expectations are met.
- Support Business Development Team in general business development activity where necessary, for example, preparing for and supporting SEG events; Develop a network of operational contacts that will support the work of the Business Development Team.
- Recommends improvements in processes, services, and policies to improve our members' experiences and streamline work.
