BASIC FUNCTION:
Under the direction of an assigned District Business Support Manager or Director, train and provide technical guidance to Stanislaus County Office of Education and school district staff, including direct service, charter, independent and community college human resource and payroll personnel on the county office's financial system, California Education code, and state/federal government regulations with an emphasis in school retirement, state and federal payroll taxes. Perform a variety of specialized duties to process intricate payroll transactions with an emphasis in school retirement, state, and federal payroll taxes. Complete complex statistical data analysis and prepare state, federal and departmental reports detailing results. Develop and utilize analytical tools and models for the analysis of retirement and payroll tax data. Travel to and provide assistance in short term capacities with the performance of payroll functions as needed for school districts supported by SCOE. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or management or related field. Two years’ experience in related accounting work and experience with advanced techniques in the use of computerized spreadsheets. A combination of education, training, and experience that could provide the desired skills, knowledge and abilities may be considered.
LICENSE & OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Valid driver’s license. Be insurable and maintain insurability. Employee must arrange their own transportation. If using own vehicle in the course of employment must provide proof of insurance.
