The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Software Engineer 2 to join our client's dynamic team. This role will focus on developing, maintaining, and enhancing complex and diverse software systems, including processing-intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of extremely large data sets, real-time systems, and business management information systems. You will work individually or as part of a team, reviewing and testing software components for adherence to design requirements, and documenting test results. You will utilize software development and design methodologies appropriate to the development environment. You will also build out Kubernetes infrastructure, ensuring system sustainment and compliance, all while adhering to corporate security policies.
What You'll Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum 7 years, with a focus on Java development and complex software systems.
Experience with or strong willingness to learn Kubernetes and Docker.
Familiarity with AWS and Elasticsearch/Opensearch is highly desirable.
Experience with Linux CLI and the Atlassian suite (Confluence, Jira).
Experience with Kubernetes infrastructure, system sustainment, and corporate security compliance.
Ability to analyze requirements, design, code, debug, and test software.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
Ability to work in a hybrid environment with 1-2 days of telework per week.
Desired Skills:
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Salt, Ansible).
Advanced Kubernetes experience (Rancher, Helm).
Data visualization skills (Kibana, Grafana).
Security certification (CWIP).
Clearance Requirements
TS/SCI with FS Polygraph (no clearance upgrades or CCAs). Please note, you MUST have the required clearance for consideration (uncleared or under-cleared applicants will not receive a response).
Location
HYBRID schedule (1-2 days/week) in Annapolis Junction, MD.
