As an entry level Social Worker, this position provides transportation services to clients for essential medical and educational services. The social worker is responsible for providing transportation to facilitate parental visitation for children in the Permanency Planning Unit. This Social Worker I is required to supervise parental visits. This Social Worker I assists families at the request of the assigned social worker or supervisor with locating resources.The Social Worker I discusses child-rearing practices and discipline techniques with clients as needed. Additionally, they are responsible for demonstrating and training clients in housekeeping, budgeting, food selection, and preparation. As a social worker, I perform other duties as needed. The starting Salary is $40,171 or DOQ Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Considerable knowledge of social work principles, techniques, and practices and their application to specific casework, group work, and community problems. Knowledge of psychosocial, socioeconomic, and behavioral problems and their treatment. Knowledge of governmental and private organizations and community resources. Knowledge of laws, regulations, and policies which govern the program. Knowledge of the application of information technology to the work. Working knowledge of standard office procedures, practices, and equipment. Skill in teamwork, collaborative conflict resolution, and customer service excellence. Skill to use a variety of office machines, computers, applicable software and typing. Skill in establishing rapport with a client and applying techniques of assessing psychosocial, behavioral, and psychological aspects of client's problem. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with administrative supervisors, members of caseload and their families, and with care providers and various community organizations. Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely. Ability to plan and execute work. Ability to establish and follow work procedures, prioritize work, and prepare and maintain accurate records and reports. Ability to work effectively, tactfully, and courteously with the public and other governmental Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a human services field from an appropriately accredited institution; Bachelor's degree from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of directly related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Must have a valid NC driver's license and reliable transportation.
