This Social Worker III position in the adult services unit is responsible for receiving and evaluating reports of alleged abuse, neglect, or exploitation of disabled adults. The worker serves as an Adult Home Specialist responsible for monitoring and licensing of adult home care facilities in the county. The position provides case management services to in-home aide clients and placement services to adults who cannot remain in their own homes. The worker provides guardianship services to adults for whom DSS is the legal guardian. The worker provides payee services. Referrals are made to other units in the agency or various community resources as necessary. This worker serves as a backup for emergency intake services during office hours. The social worker serves on-call on a rotation basis with other staff to receive reports involving allegations of abuse or neglect of adults after hours and on weekends. The worker regularly contacts medical providers, law enforcement, and other community agencies that serve adults.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Master's degree from an accredited school of social work and one year of social work or counseling experience; Bachelor's degree in social work from an accredited school of social work and completion of the Child Welfare Collaborative (Child Welfare positions only); Bachelor's degree in social work from an accredited school of social work and one year directly related experience; Master's degree in counseling in a human services field and one year of social work or counseling; Bachelor's degree in a human services field from an accredited college or university and two years directly related experience; Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and three years of directly related experience.
