What are the responsibilities and job description for the Financial Clerk position at Stans?
**Position is located in Alpena, SD and requires reporting to the office in Alpena on a daily basis**
Stan’s is a family owned, diverse organization with opportunities spanning multiple business units. Stan’s primary purpose is that of a national logistics provider offering many services including trucking of refrigerated goods, dry goods, grains, and feed ingredients and the manufacturing and sales of feed.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform Accounts Payable tasks including purchase orders, review and distribution of invoices for approval and entering into accounting software.
- Perform Accounts Receivable tasks including recording cost information by job, sales orders, invoicing, generating statements, applying payments and updating customer information.
- Complete tasks including, but not limited to, filing, preparing daily, weekly, monthly reports, compiling inventory reconciliation and reports, reconcile intercompany accounts, bank reconciliations, special projects, create and update written documents, assist accounting and other departments as needed.
- And any other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience:
- Minimum 1-2 years relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience in finance, agriculture or business administration roles.
- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office products.
- Agricultural accounting experience or background preferred but not required.
- Must be detail oriented, have a high degree of persistence, self-motivation, self-discipline and follow up.
- Proficient writing skills. Be able to create and update documents and emails in a professional manner.
- Possess excellent decision making, problem solving, analytical, computer and mathematical skills for understanding accounting processes. Ability to draw conclusions and determine the best way to handle specific tasks.
- Possess strong communication and people skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team and with varying levels of team members and vendors on various projects.
- Be able to manage multiple projects or tasks and quickly adjust to changes in required workload.
