Your Opportunity
Stantec is seeking a highly motivated Senior Project Manager with 15 years of experience, including working on mid-size to large vertical and horizontal planning and federal infrastructure design projects. This position is eligible to be remote and will join our growing government services team, reporting into our Charlottesville, VA office. This is an excellent opportunity to pursue and manage multiple progressive A/E projects of varying scale throughout the world. You will oversee technical employees, work planning, technical design management and oversight, project delivery, quality management, contract administration, change management, and risk management. Your Key Responsibilities
- Lead multi-disciplinary teams on projects from positioning to proposals, planning studies, feasibility through final designs, and construction services
- Identify appropriate resources and skill sets to achieve project objectives. Manage contract tasks, track, and manage costs and schedule, and implement measures necessary to stay on schedule and within budget
- Contribute to initiatives to help advance our project design, operations, and business development
- Maintain and enhance our reputation with clients, approval agencies and industry professionals as an outstanding service provider
- Lead by example with active support of internal policies and practices, including risk management, project management, and quality management
- Establish project objectives, procedures, and performance standards
- Represent Stantec and the project design team as a technical leader
- Grow internal and external networks to enhance Stantec reputation and identify additional talent to join our team
- Develop client relationships to facilitate project activities
- Establish, maintain, and promote partnerships in project pursuits
Your Capabilities and Experience
- Experience with the role of project manager, design manager, and or quality manager on mid to large scale projects and programs
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience leading the design and construction support of complex federal infrastructure projects
- Experience developing, negotiating, and managing project scopes, schedules, and budgets
- Business development experience required
- Marketing skills required
- Ability to lead, motivate, mentor, and develop a team of technical and professional staff
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues in a dynamic and energetic environment
- Design-Build or other alternative project delivery experience
- Possess a valid driver’s license with good driving record
- Must pass a pre-employment drug (and alcohol) screen
- Minimum of fifteen (15) years of progressive engineering and project management experience on mid to large scale federal infrastructure projects
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering or related field. Post graduate degree preferred
- Must be a licensed Professional Engineer or Architect
- Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred
