Your Opportunity
Stantec is seeking a full-time (40 hours per week) Biologist with a strong attention to detail and demonstrated coordination skills. The successful candidate will support a high-volume environmental services program for a large utility client, conduct biological/wetland resource desktop analysis, and provide administrative assistance and support to our Environmental Services practice.
Location
This role is based out of our Stantec office in Burlington (VT), Tucson (AZ), Boise (ID), Mobile, (AL), Lexington, (KY), Louisville (KY), Chattanooga, (TN), Knoxville (TN), Wichita (KS) Tulsa (Ok), Oklahoma City (OK), Tallahassee (FL) offices and geographic alignment with other Stantec offices can be considered based on experience. Stantec offers flexible work locations (including working from home), flexible work hours and a robust compensation and benefits package.

Bachelor’s degree in Biology, or related field is required, along with a minimum of one year of related experience.
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide desktop support (e.g., GIS data, aerial imagery, and database searches) to the project team to evaluate potential impacts to biological/wetland resources.
- Coordinate with the team, task leads, program managers, and clients to support multiple tasks and subprograms
- Professionally communicate (written and verbal) with Stantec staff and managers, clients, subconsultants and project stakeholders.
- Review documents to ensure that they meet specific client requirements.
- Update databases and spreadsheets to track and evaluate performance metrics.
- Follow guidance documents and standard operating procedures to ensure accurate and consistent information is delivered to clients.
- Synthesize data from multiple sources.
- Communicate regularly with team leads and managers to ensure that deadlines are being met.
- Maintain Stantec’s high standard of safety, quality control and quality assurance.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Strong attention to detail, and excellent coordination and communication skills.
- Highly proficient with MS Office suite (e.g., Microsoft Word, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Project, Adobe Acrobat, Excel) and Google Earth.
- Ability to learn new software systems (training will be provided).
- Ability to multitask, and track and complete multiple concurrent requests.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, team-oriented setting.
- Demonstrate good judgement as to when to elevate potential issues to team leads/managers.
- Exhibit professionalism and a courteous demeanor.
- Candidates must pass client background check to access online systems (upon employment).
- Comply with all Stantec and client policies including those related to safety, anti-harassment, and drug use.
