The Event Sales Representative is responsible for grading and handling physical inventory daily, including inventory sorting, purchasing inventory in the Storefront and at events, and purchasing customer mail-in purchases.
When traveling to vend events for Star City Games, they are responsible for assisting in the setup, maintenance, and general operation of the sales booth at events.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong Magic: The Gathering knowledge, with a strong desire to improve knowledge.
- Strong mechanical understanding of how to work with Magic: The Gathering cards.
- Possess great attention to detail.
- Able to provide exceptional customer service.
- Able to react calmly in stressful situations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Dependable, trustworthy, and punctual.
- Able to work well independently and as a part of a team.
- Familiarity with other physical TCGs a plus (Flesh and Blood, Pokémon, etc.).
Essential Duties:
- Travel to work events as a sales representative at approximately twelve to eighteen (12-18) events per year.
- Purchase inventory from customers in our Storefront.
- Provide industry-leading customer service when representing SCG at events.
- Sort and price all inventory SCG displays at the event sales booths.
- Purchase collections from customers through mail-in processes.
- Assist with the initial setup and breakdown of the sales booth and any additional company event areas.
- Grade and check purchased inventory as needed.
- Analyze sales patterns of singles and customer requests to provide inventory update suggestions.
- Conduct pre-event price verification of all event inventory.
- Assist with reconciliation of all inventory and items after each event.
- Create and maintain event inventory documents preceding and following each event.
- Assist with other projects as assigned by Event Sales management.
Work Environment, Physical, and Mental Demands:
‘Regularly’ indicates this action would generally occur for over 5 hours each shift.
‘Frequently’ would generally occur for 2.5 to 5 hours each shift.
‘Occasionally’ would occur periodically but is necessary to complete essential duties.
- Regularly required to utilize finger and hand dexterity with repetitive motion tasks.
- Regularly operate a computer, utilizing a mouse and keyboard.
- Frequently required to work up to twelve (12) hours during each day of a travel event.
- Frequently required to lift and carry up to 45 pounds for short distances.
- Frequently must stoop, bend, kneel, reach, and maintain full dexterity.
- Occasionally required to operate a company vehicle for long distances.
- Occasionally work in a warehouse environment with hazardous equipment, moving material handling equipment, obstacles, and high-volume activity.
- Occasionally required to sit for long periods of time.
- Occasionally work in hot, cold, or wet weather.
- Work environment often has airborne dust particles.
