We are excited to offer this fun and innovated job opportunity to one lucky resident in Eastern Kentucky! We are looking for someone FUN, outgoing, witty, hip on social media trends and good with editing apps like TikTok and caput.

You do not have to be a professional photographer or videographer but need to be good at getting appealing content and editing it with an iPhone. There will be an office to work out of, but most of this job will be out in the wild grabbing content at local events, concerts, hiking, biking, lake life and golf. All things Prestonsburg.

A Social Media Manager is responsible for overseeing an organization's social media presence, developing strategies, creating content, and engaging with the audience to enhance brand visibility, loyalty, and community engagement. Their job duties typically include:

1. Strategy Development:

  • Content Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy to achieve marketing goals, such as increasing brand awareness, engagement, or conversions.
  • Platform Selection: Choose appropriate social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok) based on the target audience and objectives.
  • Campaign Planning: Create and manage social media campaigns, from concept to execution, ensuring alignment with broader marketing goals.

2. Content Creation:

  • Copywriting: Write engaging, clear, and persuasive copy for social media posts, ads, captions, and blogs that align with the brand voice and target audience.
  • Visual Content: Oversee or create visuals such as images, infographics, videos, and stories that support the overall strategy.
  • Content Calendar: Develop a content calendar to plan and schedule posts, ensuring consistent and timely updates across platforms.

3. Community Engagement:

  • Customer Interaction: Respond to comments, messages, and mentions across social platforms to foster engagement and build relationships with followers.
  • Brand Advocacy: Act as the voice of the brand online, ensuring the tone is consistent and positive, while handling any customer complaints or issues in a professional manner.
  • Influencer & Partner Relations: Collaborate with influencers, brand advocates, or other businesses to expand reach and engagement.

4. Analytics & Reporting:

  • Performance Tracking: Monitor key metrics (engagement rates, traffic, growth, etc.) to assess the effectiveness of social media efforts.
  • Reporting: Regularly report on social media performance, including insights on audience behavior, content performance, and ROI.
  • Optimization: Use data and insights to optimize social media strategies, test different approaches, and continuously improve engagement.

5. Social Media Advertising:

  • Paid Campaigns: Create and manage paid social media campaigns (e.g., Facebook Ads, Instagram Ads, LinkedIn Ads) to reach specific marketing goals, such as lead generation or sales.
  • Budget Management: Allocate and manage budgets for paid campaigns, optimizing ads for cost-effectiveness and ROI.

6. Trend Monitoring:

  • Industry Trends: Stay up-to-date with the latest social media trends, tools, algorithms, and best practices to keep the brand ahead of the curve.
  • Competitor Analysis: Monitor competitor activity on social media to identify opportunities and threats.

7. Collaboration with Other Teams:

  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with other departments (e.g., marketing, sales, customer service) to ensure that social media efforts align with overall business goals.
  • Content Coordination: Collaborate with content creators, graphic designers, and video production teams to produce high-quality content for campaigns.

8. Crisis Management:

  • Reputation Management: Monitor social media for negative feedback or crises, and develop a strategy for addressing and mitigating any potential damage to the brand’s reputation.

9. Training and Development:

  • Team Leadership: If managing a team, oversee and guide other social media specialists, content creators, or community managers.
  • Education: Stay informed on new tools, platforms, and trends in social media, and share this knowledge with the team.

10. Brand Voice & Identity:

  • Consistency: Ensure that the brand's voice, tone, and message are consistent across all social media platforms, aligning with the overall brand identity.

The role requires a combination of creativity, analytical skills, and a deep understanding of social media dynamics. A successful Social Media Manager is adaptable, can work under pressure, and continuously seeks new ways to engage with and grow their audience.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $25,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year

Expected hours: 20 – 35 per week
