We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Packaging Supervisor to oversee and lead the packaging department. In this role, you will be responsible for managing a team of packaging associates, ensuring that products are packaged efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards. You will play a key role in maintaining production schedules, ensuring the proper use of materials, and optimizing packaging operations to meet customer and company expectations.

Hourly Rate: $28

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Supervision:
    Lead, train, and supervise a team of packaging associates to ensure that all tasks are completed accurately, efficiently, and according to established safety and quality standards.

  • Packaging Operations Management:
    Oversee day-to-day packaging operations, ensuring that products are packaged in a timely manner and that the department is running smoothly. Monitor production levels, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to improve efficiency.

  • Quality Control:
    Ensure that all packaged products meet quality standards by performing regular inspections, checking for packaging errors, and ensuring the correct materials are used. Address any discrepancies or issues immediately.

  • Material Management:
    Monitor and maintain adequate stock levels of packaging materials (boxes, tape, labels, etc.). Work closely with inventory and procurement teams to order and replenish supplies as needed.

  • Safety and Compliance:
    Ensure that the packaging area is kept clean, safe, and organized, adhering to all health and safety regulations. Enforce proper safety procedures and practices to reduce accidents and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

  • Continuous Improvement:
    Identify areas for improvement within the packaging process, such as streamlining workflows, reducing waste, or improving packaging quality. Implement new practices or tools to enhance productivity and reduce costs.

  • Training and Development:
    Provide training and development opportunities for packaging associates, ensuring they are knowledgeable about packaging standards, machinery, and safety protocols. Encourage a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork.

  • Production Scheduling:
    Work with the production and shipping teams to ensure packaging processes align with production schedules and that products are ready for shipment on time. Coordinate with other departments to meet deadlines and customer requirements.

  • Documentation and Reporting:
    Maintain accurate records of packaging operations, including materials used, production quantities, and any issues that arise during the process. Report on packaging performance to senior management regularly.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; a degree in business, logistics, or a related field is a plus.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Knowledge of packaging materials, techniques, and machinery.
  • Ability to identify and resolve operational inefficiencies.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a focus on quality control.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in a warehouse or manufacturing setting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or warehouse management software is a plus.
