We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Transportation Coordinator to join our logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating the transportation of goods, ensuring that shipments are delivered on time, within budget, and according to customer specifications. Your strong organizational skills and ability to work with carriers, vendors, and internal teams will be essential in ensuring the efficient flow of products.
Hourly Rate: $28
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and schedule transportation of goods, including selecting appropriate carriers and optimizing routes for timely delivery
- Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers, carriers, and vendors to ensure competitive rates and reliable services
- Track and monitor shipments, updating delivery statuses and addressing any delays or issues with transportation
- Work closely with warehouse and inventory teams to ensure goods are properly prepared for transportation and loading
- Ensure all transportation documentation is complete and accurate, including shipping labels, bills of lading, and customs paperwork
- Communicate with customers, vendors, and internal teams to provide shipment updates and resolve any transportation-related concerns
- Assist with the preparation and review of transportation budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to financial targets
- Resolve issues related to damaged, lost, or delayed shipments, working with carriers to determine resolutions and ensure customer satisfaction
- Collaborate with the logistics team to improve transportation processes, reduce costs, and enhance operational efficiency
- Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, safety standards, and industry best practices
- Maintain accurate records of transportation activities, including shipments, delivery times, and carrier performance
- Monitor transportation performance metrics and provide regular reports to management, identifying opportunities for improvement
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; a degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is a plus
- Previous experience in transportation coordination, logistics, or supply chain management
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with carriers, vendors, and internal teams
- Proficiency with transportation management systems (TMS) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to solve problems quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation
