What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facilities Specialist $16.50/hour, Full-Time, OPERS position at STAR Community Justice Center?
Position Summary:
The Facilities Specialist works within the Maintenance department for the Scioto County campus while reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager.
General Responsibilities:
- Know and adhere to STAR’s policies and procedures
- Coordinate with all other departments as needed
- Maintain tool and chemical inventories
- Provide grounds keeping for the facility
- Provide trash and recycling removal services
- Provide Facility security rounds
- Provide for the facility laundry
- Ensure that all supplies are ordered and delivered to the appropriate place
- Assist with searches, U/A testing, and transports as needed
- Facilitate monthly pest control
- Ensure that all resident vending is ordered and delivered to the appropriate area
- Search all incoming resident property as needed
- Work with vendors and maintain a positive relation with the community
Performance Evaluation:
Staff holding this position will be evaluated on the following intervals of employment: 90th day, 6 month, 1 year, and annually thereafter. The following domains will be assessed:

Qualifications and Skills:
- Certification in related fields and/or 2 years of experience
- A strong background with two years in the field of corrections preferred
- Valid driver’s license
