Overview:
Star Developmental Services is currently seeking compassionate and dynamic individuals to mentor and support clients with developmental disabilities in achieving greater independence within their homes. This is a 1:1 care position, offering a relaxed and non-stressful environment. While the client is mostly independent, they require moderate assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as personal hygiene, dressing, and meal preparation.

Primary responsibilities include providing support as needed, ensuring the client’s comfort and safety, and offering companionship.

This role offers flexibility in a peaceful setting, making it an ideal opportunity for those who are passionate about providing compassionate care in a low-pressure environment. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to engage in community-based outings that promote social interaction and inclusion.

Position Details

• Type: Part time available
• Schedule:
• Part time Saturday and Sunday, 8:00AM - 4:00PM and 4:00PM - 11:30PM

Qualifications:

• Minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Clear background check and physical examination required.
• Willingness to complete a drug test.
• Valid California driver’s license with a good driving history.
• Ability to assist with personal care needs and provide transportation for community outings and activities.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assist with daily living skills such as shopping, meal preparation, clean-up, and laundry.
• Encourage social activities and foster friendships and circles of support.
• Promote self-advocacy and independence among participants.
• Adapt support to meet the individual needs of each participant, demonstrating a commitment to the principles of supported living.
