Looking for a candidate who can teach and have a strong background in one or more of the following, Digital Art, Minecraft, Lego Robotics, Hip Hop Dance, Sports (Gymnastics, Basketball, or Soccer), Music , etc. during the 2024-2025 school year in Thousand Oaks/ Newbury Park/West. You will be required to travel and carry materials provided to different locations. Be a part of an exciting, enrichment program nurturing K-5th graders in advancing their abilities and providing them with one-of-a-kind experience you can't get anywhere else. - Program time 2:30-5:30 pm Monday-Friday
- $25 per hour
- Location: Newbury Park/ Thousand Oaks/ Westlake
General Requirments:
- Experience working with K-5th grade students
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must be punctual, reliable, enthusiastic, responsible, resourceful and flexible
- Dedicated to children with diverse backgrounds and academic levels
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge of:
- Basic child development principles and practice
- Safe practice in the classroom and outdoor activities
- Classroom procedures and appropriate student conduct
- Basic record-keeping skills
- Correct English usage, grammar spelling punctuation, and vocabulary
- Oral and written communication skills
- Policies and procedures of assigned programs and activities
- Operation of a computer and assigned software
- Interpersonal skills using tact, patience, and courtesy
- Health and safety regulation
- Extensive knowledge of the subject matter
- Commitment to the 2024-2025 school year (intersessions not guaranteed)
Essential Duties:
- Have great communication skills
- Interact and build positive relationships with students
- Demonstrate strong leadership skills and a commitment to educating and empowering youth
- Have extensive knowledge of age-appropriate classroom and behavior management skills
- Assist with daily attendance
- Transport supplies to and from school sites
- Serve as a role model and develop positive social behavior of children, reinforce positive behavior as appropriate
- Operate various office, and audio-visual equipment as assigned,
- Ensure the health and safety of students by following health and safety practices and procedures, preparing incident reports as required, assisting in maintaining a clean and orderly environment
- Independently lead groups of up to 14-20 students from TK-5th grade
- Attend teacher training where you will be trained in Classroom Management
- Instructors are expected to arrive on time and provide an educational, safe, and enjoyable class experience for students
- Creative, thinking with the ability to do so under time constraints
- Review curriculum during prep time and execute them effectively
Physical Demands:
- Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate standard office and classroom equipment
- Sitting or standing for extended periods of time
- Bending at the waist, kneeling or crouching to assist students
- Ability to see to read a variety of materials and monitor student activities
- Hearing and speaking to exchange information

Other Requirements:
- Must clear a background check and TB test to be eligible for employment
- Must be able to walk, run, and jump as we are working with children.
- Must complete required Department of Social Services online paid training within 90 days of being hired.
