Star Equipment, Ltd.- a family owned company entering its 57th year serving Iowa, is looking for quality employees to help maintain our reputation as Iowa's premier supplier of high-quality construction equipment, rentals, service, and supplies. Star Equipment has 4 locations - Ames, Cedar Rapids, Des Moines, and Waterloo. We have an immediate opportunity for:
Rental Yard Person- Ames (2100 E Lincoln Way)
This position is responsible for the handling of our construction equipment in our rental yard. You would need good people skills as you are often the first and the last contact after a piece of construction equipment is rented to the customer. If you have light mechanical skills and are open to a new opportunity, come see what Star Equipment has to offer, we provide on-the-job training.
Duties to include
- Equipment handling -- from small water pumps to telehandlers
- Checking the condition of the equipment for safety and operational purposes
- Maintenance/light mechanical on Equipment
- Check for Proper Safe Guards
- Washing Rental Equipment
Job Requires
- Ability to operate or be willing to learn the operation of construction equipment
- Ability to Lift 100 lbs
- General Knowledge of Construction Equipment
- Good hand writing
- Working in adverse weather
