Star Equipment, Ltd.- a family owned company entering its 57th year serving Iowa, is looking for quality employees to help maintain our reputation as Iowa's premier supplier of high-quality construction equipment, rentals, service, and supplies. Star Equipment has 4 locations - Ames, Cedar Rapids, Des Moines, and Waterloo. We have an immediate opportunity for:
Rental Yard Person- Des Moines (1401 2nd Ave)
This position is responsible for the handling of our construction equipment in our rental yard. You would need good people skills as you are often the first and the last contact after a piece of construction equipment is rented to the customer. If you have light mechanical skills and are open to a new opportunity, come see what Star Equipment has to offer, we provide on-the-job training.
Duties to include:
- Put together rental equipment orders in a timely manner.
- Load/unload customers and help secure load in a timely manner.
- Provide operating instructions to the customer.
- Check in rental equipment (general maintenance).
- Communicate ID #’s, hours, fuel, and any cleaning or damage charges to the office.
- Maintain a safe and clean workspace.
- Predeliver new equipment for sales as needed.
Job Requires:
- General mechanical experience – minimum 1 year, or willing to learn
- Good mechanical aptitude, knowledge of electric and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to lift 100 lbs.
- Good driving record
