Role Description
The Quality Inspector reports to the Quality Supervisor. This position works closely with Operations, Internal and External Customers. The Quality Inspector is required to be a self-starter, work independently, be dependable and trustworthy. Must have dependable transportation and be able to stand for the majority of the 10-hour shift.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Read work instructions, quality standards, mechanical drawings and specifications.
- Review production work orders to verify the correct materials used during the building process.
- Inspect, test or torque measure materials or products being produced.
- Document material defects, assembly errors and paint issues.
- Reject products not in compliance with quality standards.
- Identify all products and materials that fail to meet specifications.
- Discuss inspection results with those responsible for products.
- Report inspection and test data.
- Inspectors mark, tag or note problems. They may reject defective items outright, send them for repair or fix minor problems themselves. If the product is acceptable, the inspector will certify it.
- Check products by sight, sound or feel to locate imperfections such as cuts, scratches, missing pieces and incorrectly assembled product.
- Verify that parts fit, move correctly and are properly lubricated.
- Monitor EV assembly to ensure quality standards are met.
- Inspect, test and measure products being produced.
- Checking that the assembly or production line adheres to quality standards and procedures.
- Recording inspection results by completing reports, summarizing re-works and wastes and inputting data into quality database.
- Monitor regular quality checks throughout the production stages (e.g., battery installation, motor assembly, controller, wiring.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Educational Requirements
- High School Diploma or completion of GED required.
- Minimum two (2) years' work related experience in quality inspection role.
- Quality certifications a plus.
- High attention to detail and quality.
- Must be motivated and willing to have a hands-on approach.
- Ability to learn procedures and follow directions.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
- Team Player
- Flexibility to work overtime as necessary.
Preferred Skills
- Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem and to think in such a way to produce a new concept or idea.
- High attention to detail and quality.
- ISO/Lean experience
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to meet all physical requirements include crawling, bending, reaching, crouching, squatting and maintain a fast work pace.

Pay: $16.50 - $17.00 per hour
