As a Human Resource Generalist, essential duties include: 

  • Provide Human Resources support for managers and employees.
  • Facilitate the recruitment process for non-exempt positions, including participating in phone and in-person interviews to screen candidates to ensure that qualified individuals are referred to hiring manager.
  • Prepare and send various correspondence, including but not limited to, new hire information, unemployment protests and hearing documents, FMLA notices and assessments, etc.
  • Respond to inquiries, requests and resolve problems for employees in given region concerning policy and procedures, benefits, recruitment, compensation, training, HRIS and Learning/Performance Management systems, and other HR related functions. Refer to a specialist as needed.
  • Responsible for maintaining and processing accurate documentation and records. Scan all incoming paperwork and file in employee personnel files.
  • Administer new hire procedures including testing, background checks, drug screens, and extending offers of employment.
  • Ensures adherence to all federal, state, and local regulations and organizational policies/procedures.
  • Conduct career counseling with employees. 
  • Assist with projects and initiatives related to corporate Human Resources.
  • Assist with HR policy and procedure compliance.
  • Participate in meetings involving policy, procedure, and salary review topics.
  • Continuous participation in professional development opportunities.

Skills Needed 

  • Ability to maintain the strictest confidence relating to employee data and other information.
  • Ability to effectively interact with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of basic HR policies and procedures and HR best practices.
  • Strong detail orientation and organizational skills.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment under minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work in a team and independently.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite products.
