At this time, STAR has an open position for an Accounting Associate (full-time, exempt) in our Minneapolis Office. This position plays a critical role ensuring that our clients are billed properly for the work that we do, ensuring that vendor payments are processed and paid accurately and efficiently, and providing support to vital accounting functions. The ideal candidate for this job will possess a collaborative spirit, a commitment to exceeding client expectations, intense attention to detail, and an exceptional ability to manage assigned tasks and timelines.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Utilize internal job tracking software to generate invoices in internal accounting software, with high data integrity awareness to ensure system alignment.
- Collaborate with our Client Services team to create solutions to all customer billing matters and to provide solution-oriented assistance to customers regarding payments .
- Process remote deposits and electronic receipts.
- Post accurate customer payment applications.
- Follow up with customers on invoices that are 45 days past due via e-mail and phone
- Provide aging reports internally on a weekly basis
- Review and code vendor invoices, ensuring all have a proper job number or general ledger code
- Select vendor invoices for bi-weekly payment runs and send to management for approval and signature
- Assist with coding and entering credit card transactions into accounting system
- Ensure vendor invoices are processed in a timely manner
- Assist with front desk responsibilities as assigned.
- Other duties as required to meet business needs.
Qualifications:
- 2 or 4 year degree in Accounting or Business Administration, preferred.
- 1 years of accounting or purchasing experience preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment balancing multiple priorities.
- Must have proven ability to collaborate within teams and cross-functionally.
- Software proficiency with MS Office, Internet, Dynamics NAV.
- Service orientated.
- Willingness and ability to work adjusted hours during peak periods to ensure client needs are met.
