Staff Accountant
Introduction:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our Finance team. This role is responsible for supporting financial operations by maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and supporting month-end and year-end financial processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and maintain accurate journal entries and ensure timely reconciliation of general ledger accounts
Assist with the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
Process invoices, monitor payment schedules, and handle vendor and client account reconciliations
Participate in month-end closing activities, including adjusting entries, accruals, and reconciliations
Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis efforts
Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and information
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including filing tax returns and other required reports
Support the finance team with various accounting projects as needed
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
1-3 years’ experience in accounting, preferably in a related role
Proficient in general ledger functions and financial statements
Experience with analyzing financial reports
Familiarity with utilizing financial systems
Skills:
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong mathematical and analytical skills
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Ability to troubleshoot accounting discrepancies and provide recommendations for solutions
