JOB SUMMARY:
This position will be responsible for working directly with the Vice President of Supply Chain in managing strategic and tactical purchasing, commodity sourcing, and materials replenishment. The role will interface with Sales, Regulatory, Customer Service, Operations, Production Planning, as well as key suppliers. This role is also responsible for ensuring that the supply chain strategy is not only aligned with company needs related to cost and working capital but also with customer expectations for lead time and service levels.
DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
· Conduct activities related to strategic or tactical forecasting and purchasing.
· Source and streamline material purchases and negotiate product cost with vendors to obtain best possible value.
· Direct involvement in supplier quality/development, material requirements planning, and procurement.
· Develop comprehensive sourcing strategies leveraging total company spend.
· Analyze contractual commitments and forecast trends and market conditions for present and future pricing, availability, and lead-time of high impact commodities.
· Work closely with Sales, R&D, Finance, and Operations to ensure decisions align with strategic sources and that component selections are sustainable and cost effective.
· Negotiate contracts for transportation, distribution, or logistics services in conjunction with Shipping department.
· Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in supplier relationships and supply chain efficiency. Develop and manage related metric driven tools.
· Other duties assigned as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Training/Certifications:
· Bachelors Degree in Business or related field required
· Institute for Supply Management (ISM) CPSM or APICS CSCP certification preferred
Experience:
· Five to ten years of Supply Chain / Procurement experience required
· Industrial food manufacturing experience preferred
· Experience in Production Scheduling / Material Management preferred
· Experience with Domestic andGlobal Sourcing preferred
· Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
Required Skill Sets:
· Proficient computer skills to include Microsoft Office Products, Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point
· Experience with ERP systems and exporting / analyzing database information
· Strong analytical skills a must
· Ability to drive results with a sense of urgency and diplomacy
· Ability to work at both the strategic and tactical levels in a cross-functional team
· Effective interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written necessary
· Strong organizational and prioritization skills, critical attention to detail and deadlines, and ability to adapt to an everchanging environment
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Full-Time hybrid position, Home, office, occasional travel.
