Job Title: After-School Teacher
Job Summary: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated After-School Teacher to join our team. As an After-School Teacher, you will be responsible for creating a safe and stimulating environment where students can engage in various educational and recreational activities after regular school hours. Your role is crucial in providing academic support, fostering social-emotional development, and promoting a love for learning among children.
Responsibilities:
- Curriculum Planning: Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities that align with the academic needs and interests of students.
- Supervision: Ensure the safety and well-being of students at all times during after-school hours, including during activities, snacks, and transitions.
- Tutoring and Homework Help: Provide support and assistance to students with their homework assignments and academic projects.
- Enrichment Activities: Organize and lead enrichment activities such as arts and crafts, sports, music, drama, and STEM projects to foster creativity and skill development.
- Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with parents, school staff, and administrators regarding student progress, behavior, and any concerns.
- Behavior Management: Implement positive behavior management techniques to promote a respectful and inclusive environment.
- Nutritional Support: Supervise snack time, ensuring that students have access to nutritious snacks and promoting healthy eating habits.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with other after-school staff members to plan events, coordinate schedules, and share responsibilities effectively.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma Required
- Previous experience working with children in an educational or recreational setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in the well-being and development of children.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- First Aid and CPR certification (preferred).
- Driver's license
Work hours : 2pm to 8pm
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $13.00 - $14.50 per hour
Expected hours: 4 – 6 per week
