Job Title: Member Service Associate (Teller)
Hours: Monday through Thursday from 8:45 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Friday 8:45 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. and rotating Saturdays 8:30 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. (with a day off during the week).
Salary Range: $41,300 - $62,500, which is base pay.
Compensation will be based on candidate qualifications.
Job Scope/Duties
- Perform basic member transactions including, but not limited to: deposits, withdrawals, account transfers, loan payments, loan payoffs, cash advances, US Savings Bonds redemption, gift card purchases, sub-account openings, IRA contributions, address change requests, check order requests, account closures, and issuance of Cashier Checks.
- Accurately maintain, safeguard, and balance cash drawer, and all negotiable instruments. Answers basic member inquiries, concerning Credit Union products and services, policies and procedures, promotions, relationship pricing, fee structures, and general financial institution processes.
- Prepare work for daily opening and closing of branch.
- Other daily duties would include stop payment requests, accurate completion of CTRs, member password updates, statement copy requests, cross-member transfer requests, wire requests, and processing daily night depository items.
- Cross-selling Credit Union products and services appropriate to meet member’s needs.
- Complete miscellaneous duties and projects as assigned.
- Provides assistance to other branches and departments as needed.
Experience/Minimum Education Requirements
- Requires one year of cash handling experience.
- Six months of Teller experience at a credit union or financial institution is preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Requires good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to learn and retain banking regulatory information and requirements.
- Must be proficient with technology (computers, iPads, mobile phones, tablets) and Microsoft Office applications.
- Fosters and maintains a strong service culture by providing excellent internal and member service.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while handling multiple tasks and competing priorities.
- Must be a strong team player with the ability to work in a diverse group or as an individual contributor.
