Job Title: Real Estate Loan Processor
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturdays based on business needs
Salary Range: $70,500 - $97,050 which is base pay.
Compensation will be based on candidate qualifications.
Job Scope/Duties
- Responsible for processing all types of real estate loan applications, including the preparation of Loan Estimate and Closing Disclosures per TRID compliance under the direction of the Manager.
- Evaluates, and reviews loan applications for completeness.
- Completes all application data fields and workflows required by the loan origination software and complete a basic review of borrower qualifications by reviewing credit history, debt ratios, preliminary title reports, appraisals and flood certification; advising loan officer of any aspects that do not meet Credit Union guidelines.
- Obtains and validates supporting loan documents/information and prepare application for final underwriting and closing review.
- Acts as primary point of contact for the borrowers.
- Communicates loan status to all involved parties including buyer, seller, Realtor, and title company representatives in an efficient and professional manner. Responsible for providing administrative support for all real estate loan closing activities.
- Coordinates the drawing of documents and complete the preliminary and final audit of closing documents for compliance with all applicable regulations and Credit Union procedures and policies.
- Coordinates booking of loans on XP System and drawing of check or wire to the title company.
- Complete HMDA data in loan application system.
- Cross-sells all Credit Union products and services.
Experience/Minimum Education Requirements
- Two to four years of mortgage processing experience, preferably in a financial institution. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance preferred; or the equivalent level of experience and education.
- Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) registration required upon hire.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Must have an understanding of real estate loan processing functions and conventional lending and mortgage related requirements and procedures.
- Knowledge of secondary market underwriting guidelines, conventional lending and working knowledge of Fannie Mae’s automated underwriting system, Desktop Underwriter.
- Experience with Accenture Mortgage Cadence LFC or another Mortgage Loan Origination System is preferred.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office to include Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong problem solving, analytical, financial, and math skills.
- Well organized and detail oriented with the ability to work independently under limited supervision or as a part of a team.
- Strong judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
- Ability to work in fast paced environment, prioritize tasks and effectively complete multiple projects simultaneously
