What are the responsibilities and job description for the Surgical Scheduler/ Patient Care Coordinator position at Star Plastic Surgery?
OVERVIEW:
Under the direction of the Star Plastic Surgery Chief Medical Director, responsible for performing a variety of customer service and administrative tasks essential for managing patient care and ensuring a positive experience for patients and callers.
FULLTIME: MON-FRI 9:00AM-6PM SOME SATURDAYS 9-1AM.
Duties, functions, and responsibilities:
- Assist with answering incoming telephone calls/ emails/ other forms of lead contact on call center lines.
- Greet patients and other reception duties, such as scheduling appointments, providing patients with information, explaining services, collecting payments, and surgical scheduling.
- Schedule/board patients for 2 surgeons within the practice and communicating with other medical facilities to schedule surgeries and obtain medical records via fax, phone, or email.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Positive "can-do" attitude is a must!
Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Knowledge of the principles and processes for providing friendly and quality customer service.
- Knowledge regarding laws related to HIPAA, patient and employer confidentiality.
- Excellent computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office programs.
- Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills.
- Skill in communicating effectively with the public and other employees.
Minimum qualifications:
- At least two years experience in a medical office or healthcare setting.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
- Formal computer training or equivalent work experience.
- Understands medical terminology and anatomy.
- Understands insurance and patient billing and reimbursement.

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
