JOB TITLE: Sanitation Driver Level II REPORTS TO: Sanitation Supervisor
EXEMPT: No DEPARTMENT: STAR
SUMMARY: Services portable sanitation equipment at customer sites in a timely and efficient manner, utilizing pumping hoses and other equipment in a safe and legally compliant manner. Maintains a DOT clearance, Class A Commercial license, Tank Endorsement with 2 years of commercial driving with the ability to operate vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) of 26,001lbs or more and has current knowledge of disposal of waste procedures at designated Treatment Plants.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Operations:
- Delivers portable sanitation units and other portable equipment to designated customer sites
- Services portable sanitation units by pumping holding tanks
- Services other portable equipment at customer sites as needed
- Maintains a current knowledge of waste disposal procedures at regional Treatment Plants
- Ensure to complete Driver’s Vehicle Inspection Reports on a daily basis
- Maintains pumper truck by checking lights, tires, mirrors, fuel level, water, oil temperatures and clean vacuum pumps etc.
General Labor:
- Assists with work in the yard as needed between service trips
- Maintain facility and yard clean (sweeping, picking up trash, etc.)
- Wash restroom units inside and out with garden hose
- Wash company vehicles as needed
Customer Service:
- Communicates with customers in a clear, professional and efficient manner
- Redirect customer inquiries to appropriate personnel during the delivery of units

- Maintain a DOT clearance, valid Class A Commercial license with Tank Endorsement, and a good driving record (if authorized to drive by HR Manager)
- Requires 2 years of commercial driving with the ability to operate vehicles with a (GVWR) of 26,001lbs or more
- Must be eligible to be added to company insurance
- Perform all other duties as assigned by management in a professional and efficient manner
Qualifications
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education and/or Experience:
- Provide and maintain a clean driving record and 2 years of commercial driving experience. Maintain DOT clearance and Class A Commercial license with Tank Endorsement. Ability to operate vehicles with a (GVWR) of 26,001lbs or more

Language Skills:
- Bilingual English / Spanish preferred
- Ability to respond to basic inquiries and present information effectively to customers, co-workers, and management verbally and in writing
Mathematical Skills:
- Ability to apply math concepts to practical situations
Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to understand equipment manuals
