What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tractor Trailer Driver position at Star Waste Systems LLC?
The successful candidate will be responsible for driving a company truck locally and will be home daily. The ideal candidate will have a valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and experience in the waste industry. We are looking for someone who has experience with walking floor trailers, however we are willing to train the right person.
Responsibilities:
- Have a valid commercial driver's license.
- Maintain a clean driving record.
- Safely operate a truck and trailer in all weather conditions.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Communicate with dispatch in a professional manner.
Requirements:
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements (e.g., tanker, hazmat)
- Proven experience as a tractor-trailer driver or similar role.
- Ability to safely operate various types of trucks and equipment (e.g., forklifts, flatbeds) and has experience in heavy hauling.
- Strong knowledge of commercial driving regulations and safety protocols.
- Excellent driving record with no major violations or accidents.
- Basic automotive repair skills for minor maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks related to loading/unloading cargo.
