Description
StarCare Specialty Health System is seeking to hire a part-time entry level Environmental Service Worker (custodian). Work involves cleaning and caring for StarCare buildings, facilities, and maintaining custodial equipment. Work is performed under the close supervision of the Environmental Services Manager.
General Duties:
- Performs general custodial functions such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and cleaning windows, light fixtures, and carpet.
- Cleans, dusts, and disinfects areas such as restrooms, offices, and other facilities.
- Uses and applies cleaning chemicals as appropriate.
- Cleans office furniture, walls, windows, and floors, and empties trash.
- Moves office furniture and other items to ensure proper cleaning.
- Operates floor maintenance equipment, including buffers, strippers, vacuums, and extractors.
- Restocks custodial supplies and replenishes soap, paper towel, and toilet paper dispensers.
- May perform minor maintenance and repair work on custodial equipment.
- May assist in inspecting buildings and facilities for cleanliness and report needed repairs.
- Assist supervisor or other Center staff with special projects or assignments.
- Performs related work as assigned.
Schedule: This is a part-time, non-exempt position working 10 am to 6 pm, Saturday and Sunday with additional hours as needed to meet program needs.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Graduation from high school or equivalent (GED), preferred.
- Experience in custodial work, preferred.
- Experience and education may be substituted for one another.
Additional Requirements:
- Must pass a pre-hire drug screen and criminal background check.
- Must have a current Texas driver's license, liability auto insurance, and be insurable under the Agency's insurance.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with supervisor and other Center employees.
- Must be able to complete all required documentation accurately and within established timelines.
- Must follow all applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures
