Position Overview

The Big Data Lead will oversee the design, development, and implementation of big data solutions, managing a team of data engineers and scientists. This role is critical in shaping the company’s data strategy, ensuring that big data solutions align with business goals, and optimizing data processes for enhanced decision-making and performance.

Key Responsibilities

• **Leadership and Team Management:**
• Lead and mentor a team of data engineers, data scientists, and analysts.
• Provide guidance on best practices in big data technologies and methodologies.
• Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
• **Big Data Strategy and Implementation:**
• Develop and execute the company’s big data strategy, aligning it with business objectives.
• Design and implement scalable big data solutions using technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka.
• Oversee the architecture and development of data pipelines, data lakes, and data warehouses.
• **Data Architecture and Engineering:**
• Architect and build data models and data integration processes to support business analytics and reporting.
• Ensure data quality, accuracy, and integrity across all big data systems.
• Optimize data processing and storage for performance and cost efficiency.
• **Project Management:**
• Manage big data projects from inception to delivery, including planning, execution, and deployment.
• Develop project plans, timelines, and resource allocations.

• **Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:**

Qualifications

• **Education:**
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Big Data - Specialty, Google Professional Data Engineer) is a plus.
• **Experience:**
• 7-10 years of experience in big data engineering, data science, or a related field, with at least 3 years in a lead or managerial role.
• Proven experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, and related tools.
• **Skills:**
• Strong knowledge of big data architectures, data modeling, and data integration.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and their big data services.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex data issues.
• Strong project management skills, including experience with Agile methodologies.
