Job Description
The Warehouse Associate at Starfire Direct is responsible for supporting the warehouse functions for the company. This role includes receiving and storing inventory, product assembly, accurate order fulfillment (shipping, picking, & packing), and maintaining organization and cleanliness.
Key Responsibilities
- Health & Safety
- Follow all safety procedures, including but not limited to handling equipment properly, wearing appropriate protective equipment, and complying with OSHA regulations
- Operate forklift, pallet jack, or dolly to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area
- Perform basic maintenance tasks such as cleaning, organizing, and ensuring all equipment is functioning
- Report any safety concerns, hazards, or damaged goods to management immediately
- Inventory Management
- Maintain accurate counts, weights, or measures for all inventory units incoming and outgoing and notify supervisors of low stock or count discrepancies
- Maintain proper picking process to ensure inventory accuracy
- Receive and unload shipments incoming for inventory, returns, warranty claims, etc.
- Examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages, and correspond with the Warehouse Manager on rectifying damages and shortages
- Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies and notify supervisors of low stock
- Organize and store products within the warehouse in an efficient and orderly manner
- Picking/Packing
- Package shipments efficiently without wasting packing materials
- Run shipping quote comparisons prior to shipping to avoid excessive surcharges
- Ensure there is no neglect to delicate materials while handling and packing
- Verify and document shipment contents before sending out orders
- Affix shipping labels on packed cartons or stencil identifying shipping information on cartons
- When necessary, assemble company products for shipping and delivery to customers
- Palletization
- Assemble wooden or cardboard containers or select preassembled containers
- Create wooden shipping crates with a miter saw, skill and vertical panel saw
- Stamp, stencil, or glue identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates and containers
- Nail covers onto wooden crates and bind containers with metal tape
- Local Deliveries
- Utilize the company delivery vehicle for occasional deliveries, including “White Glove” service
Necessary Skills
- Experience with tools including but not limited to hammers, saws, measuring tapes, screws, nails, screw drivers, etc.
- Experience with packing equipment, such as packing tape, packing wrap, thermal printers, heat sealers, crowbars, etc.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, percentage and to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Possess common sense skills and the ability to use good judgement to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to solve problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in warehouse, logistics, or supply chain
- Driver’s License with Clean Driving Record
- General ERP software knowledge and experience (NetSuite/Sage preferred)
- Experience with using OnTrac, UPS, USPS, and Fed Ex for shipping and receiving
- General computer competency including Microsoft O365 (Outlook, Teams, Excel, etc.)
- Forklift Experience (current and valid certification is preferred)
Working Conditions
This role is within a warehouse environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
Physical Demands
Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods of time. Lifting, carrying, and moving heavy objects are part of your daily duties.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour
