The Maitre d' plays a crucial role in creating a positive dining experience for our guests by ensuring that each guest treated with the utmost grace and professionalism. The ideal candidate for this position will be charismatic, experienced and guest-focused with a strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills. This is a fast-paced position and will require an individual who can perform well under pressure. Responsibilities:
- Greet and seat guests in a timely and professional manner
- Manage reservations using OpenTable and ensure proper table assignments
- Assign patrons to tables suitable for their needs and according to rotation so that servers receive an appropriate number of seatings
- Coordinate with service staff and management to ensure a smooth guest experience
- Manage the flow of guests into the dining and bar areas, provide accurate wait times to incoming guests if appropriate
- Operate Delivery Partner devices and coordinate all takeout orders
- Answer the phone.
- Keep the lobby neat, tidy, and presentable for guests.
Qualifications:
- Previous restaurant hosting, concierge, or maitre d' experience required
- Experience using OpenTable or comparable reservation software
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Able to take direction and receive feedback with a positive attitude
- Ability to clearly communicate guests’ needs to Servers, Bussers, Managers, etc.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
- Be able to work in a standing position for the duration of the shift
- Must be able to carry trays or supplies (10-30 lbs.)
