What are the responsibilities and job description for the Special Olympics Track Coach (1) and Assistant Coaches (3) position at Stark County Board of Developmental Disabilities?
Shift: After School,Weekend
Summary:
Responsible for scheduling and coaching of practices and competitions at Special Olympics.
Schedules and coaches all practices/competitions through state competition. Makes certain conditions are safe for practices - proper ratio for players/coaches/volunteers.
Makes certain all medicals are current and on hand at all events.
Plans and prepares budget, transportation, supply requests and coordinates with Special Olympic Coordinator in a timely manner.
Sends Coordinator roster and schedule in a timely manner.
Involves volunteers in program-keep paperwork in order. Prepares registration as needed for events.
Assists whenever possible to achieve a successful program.
Schedules officials, timers, and volunteers as needed.
Secures facilities for practices/games.
Sees to other safety aspects.
Coordinates practices and competitions for each group of participants.
Prepares and distributes needed information to participants and care givers with copies to the Special Olympic Coordinator.
Plans for the state competitions-attend meetings as requested by the Special Olympic Coordinator.
Experience and Skills:
Knowledge of Track and Field and/or Bocce rules.
Valid Ohio Driver’s License; acceptable annual BMV Check
Must be available evenings and weekends. Some travel required.
Experience coaching or working with DD population.
