Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Funeral Director or Funeral Apprectice to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the funeral service profession and demonstrate exceptional customer service skills. This role involves guiding families through the funeral planning process, providing bereavement support, and ensuring that all services are conducted with dignity and respect. The Funeral Director will also be responsible for managing the logistics of funeral services, including event planning and coordination.
Responsibilities
- Assist families in making funeral arrangements, providing guidance on options available.
- Prepare the deceased for viewing and burial, which may include sanitizing, cosmetology, and dressing.
- Conduct funeral services, ensuring all aspects are organized and executed smoothly.
- Provide bereavement support to families before, during, and after the service.
- Manage logistics related to transportation of the deceased and equipment setup.
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a respectful environment for grieving families.
- Maintain accurate records of all services provided and manage necessary paperwork.
- Engage in community outreach to promote services offered by the funeral home.
- Uphold industry regulations and standards in all practices.
Qualifications
- Strong customer service skills with an empathetic approach to client interactions.
- Knowledge of physiology and anatomy as it relates to embalming and body preparation.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required during the preparation of remains.
- Experience in sales is beneficial for promoting services effectively.
- Familiarity with bereavement support practices to assist grieving families.
- Event planning skills to coordinate various aspects of funeral services seamlessly.
- Proficiency in sanitizing procedures to maintain a safe environment for clients and staff.
- Cosmetology knowledge is preferred for preparing the deceased for viewings.
- Ability to dissect when necessary as part of the embalming process.
- If Applying for apprenticeship must have finished or in the process of finishing mortuary school

Pay: $40,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
