SUMMARY: This position is responsible for providing skilled administrative support to location management. The role includes customer service, extensive communication with farmer producers, and coordination with location operations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following reflect essential functions for this position. Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary.
- Grade, and sample inbound and outbound grain at the scale, communicating information to the outside crew.
- Provide grain purchasing support.
- Process inbound and outbound grain shipping paperwork, including scale ticket creation and correction, weights and grades, and grain contracts.
- Verify and prepare purchase contracts for mailing / signature.
- Communicate customer purchase contract information as requested.
- Communicate daily grain bids to our farmer customers as requested.
- Provide customer service and act as one of the primary points of contact for customers, including resolving issues and complaints.
- Settle purchase contracts and prepare checks for payment.
- Work with Grain Originators as needed.
- Understand and utilize Agvantage Software appropriately.
- Deposit payments with the bank.
- Assist the Location Manager in setting up customer meetings (customer appreciation, market information, etc.).
- Run daily grain reports.
- Mycotoxin testing of corn samples.
- Answer, screen, and direct incoming phone calls.
- Coordinate information/logistics between main office and feed mill for outbound product.
- Order and maintain office supplies, cleaning supplies, and safety supplies.
- Perform general clerical duties, such as filing, faxing, typing, and mailing.
- Perform general office cleaning.
- Engage in safety awareness, and comply with all safety policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
- Perform additional work during peak times of the year that exceed typical business hours.
Job Qualifications
- High School Diploma and two years related experience.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills (face-to-face, verbal, written, electronic).
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to work well within strict time frames.
- Acute attention to detail, with good math skills.
- Demonstrated ability to use a variety of computer systems.
- Ability and willingness to work long hours, and be on call, as business conditions warrant.
Job Type: Full-time
