This position will be responsible for a variety of functions in the legal department. This position will work closely with the Company’s business units in a cross-functional capacity to minimize risk, ensure best practices and support growth. The Corporate Counsel will provide legal services as needed to ensure that the company is exercising best business practices. Founded in 1967, Starkey is known for its innovative design, development and distribution of comprehensive digital hearing systems.Headquartered in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, Starkey has more than 5,000 employees globally, operates 29 facilities and does business in more than 100 markets worldwide.JOB RESPONSIBILITIESPrepare, review and negotiate company contracts, requests for proposals and other legal documents Establish documentation (contracts) to support network programs and business practicesConsult with management, commercial advisors, tax experts, accountants and marketing staffNegotiate and draft contractual agreements, such as supply and services agreementsGeneral projects as directed by managementManage legal disputes and inquiriesOther DutiesSupport Starkey Employee Corporate and / or Department Guidelines.Check and verify quality.Support corporate health and safety objectives.React to change productively and handle other essential duties as assigned.Job RequirementsMinimum Education, Certification and Experience RequirementsEducation : J.D. degree and member of Minnesota State barExperience : Minimum 7 years of experience with preferably some experience in a law firm and experience managing commercial transactions.Knowledge : Thorough knowledge of business and planning processes required.Skills & AbilitiesMust be able to demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations.Business-oriented approach to problem-solving, resourceful.Ability to prioritize and manage workload.Contract drafting and negotiating experience.Salary and Other Compensation : The annual salary for this position is between $162,000 - $200,000 / year.
