JOB SUMMARY DESCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE OF JOB
This position works with engineers in our world-class algorithm development team and is responsible for experimental aspects of machine-learning algorithm development for health, wellness, and hearing applications. Tasks include data collection and cleaning, labelling, data processing and analysis, and algorithm verification.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/RESULTS
Review and understand experiment protocols
- understand the objective of studies
- understand experimental steps in order to effectively follow them
- provide feedback to the engineers
Learn how to use prototype devices and software
- understand the capability of prototype devices and software
- know how to operate them according to the protocol
Conduct dry runs of the protocol
- conduct practice runs of the protocol in the environment as specified
- observe any practical issues along the way
- provide practical and meaningful feedback and make minor modifications to the protocol based on the dry runs
Create a plan based on the protocol
- recruit and schedule human subjects according to the protocol
- identify dependencies including devices and software
- assemble timelines of the entire experiment into a single plan
Conduct experiments in the lab and field according to the protocol
- setup experiments according to the protocol
- explain instructions to the subjects
- obtain periodic updates from subjects to ensure healthy progress
Process data
- clean data according to pre-specified criteria
- adjust subject labels for human errors
- add metadata as specified by the protocol
Create short summary reports
- documents should contain a clear reference to the protocol
- documents should contain the experimental setup
- documents should contain human subject information as permitted by law and policies
- documents should contain a concise summary of the collected data
- documents should contain data analysis results as described in the protocol
- documents should contain a readme file on how to use the collected data
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Education, Certification and Experience Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Science, or Engineering preferred
Experience
- Experience working with human subjects is desired
Knowledge / Technical Requirements
- Knowledge of modern machine learning techniques desirable
- Knowledge of audio recording desirable
- Knowledge in Health or wellness monitoring desirable
Competencies, Skills & Abilities
- Good verbal and written communication skills required
- Good interpersonal skills are required
- Attention to details required
- Proficient with MS office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Able to work with custom PC and mobile applications software

Salary and Other Compensation:
The target pay range for this position is between $20.36 - $26.25 per hour. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include: geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is eligible for a bonus based upon performance results. There is no guarantee of payout. |
