Position Overview: Starks Design Company is looking for a talented and detail-oriented Graphic Design Assistant to support the owner and lead graphic designer. This person must have a willingness to learn and quickly jump in on projects that have a fast turn-around time. This part-time, contract position requires 5 hours per week and is ideal for someone passionate about design, organization, and helping our clients shine. The assistant will collaborate on a variety of design projects, focusing on email marketing, creating and scheduling social media content, creation of branding assets, and website updates. This person should also be detail oriented and be able to assist in project management and other administrative tasks as needed. On occasion, they may be asked to attend client meetings (typically on Zoom), or contact clients directly, but typically, they will be working directly with the lead designer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the creation and editing of graphics for email marketing campaigns, including templates, banners, and visuals.
- Design and schedule social media content aligned with branding guidelines.
- Support branding projects by creating logo variations, color palettes, and typography layouts.
- Help with basic website updates, including uploading images and ensuring layouts meet design standards.
- Research design trends and suggest creative ideas for client projects.
- Organize and maintain design assets and project files for easy accessibility.
- Assist with client revisions, ensuring all feedback is implemented accurately and on time.
Ideal Candidate:
- Willingness to learn and ability to jump in on projects.
- Proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
- Familiarity with email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, Klaviyo) and social media tools.
- Knowledge of website builders like WordPress, Shopify, or Squarespace is a plus.
- Strong understanding of design principles, typography, and color theory.
- Organized, with excellent time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
- A collaborative attitude and openness to constructive feedback.
- Bonus: Interest or experience in working with clients in e-commerce, health and wellness, or faith-based organizations.
