What are the responsibilities and job description for the Behavior Support Professional position at Starlight Behavioral Health?
A Behavioral Support Specialist will perform duties as required by the Clinical Quality Supervisor. These functions may include completing the following functions with limited day to day direction.
- Complete/Review behavioral assessments, develop behavior support plans and train Direct Service Professionals (DSP) on the implementation of treatment plans.
- Attend IDT meetings for assigned consumers and be prepared with written recommendations and current programs for all scheduled meetings.
- Analyze behavioral data at least monthly and complete Monthly Summaries for the clinical record for each assigned consumer, documenting progress, regression and recommended revisions to training plans/ programs.
- Complete documentation of billable activities that fully outline the purpose for the activity, findings and a clinical opinion to determine future course of action for each consumer, within required deadlines.
- Evaluate all behavioral incidents within 72 hours of occurrence and arrange for any identified retraining as deemed necessary.
- Provide training and support to natural family members of assigned consumers as needed, to ensure continuity of care and generalization of identified goals and objectives.
- Serve as a liaison between SBH and outside agencies and community members.
- Actively advocate for consumer rights and submit any potential rights restrictions to the Human Rights Committee prior to implementation.
- Work collaboratively with other applicable departments/providers to maintain communication regarding treatment issues
- Participate in Internal Investigations as requested

Hourly rate range: $21.76 - $24.08

Experience
Preferred- WV PBSP Association Level 2 endorsement preferred
- One year experience working with the I/DD population, Title XIX I/DD Waiver experience preferred

Required- Bachelors or better in Human Services
