What are the responsibilities and job description for the Aircraft Washer position at Starlight Corporation?
Looking for personnel to wash and service large military aircraft. We are a private government contractor for Lackland AFB contracted to wash and service the C-5 aircraft. PART TIME only. History of military or aircraft maintenance experience preferred, but not required. Perfect for Retired or Military Personnel. Must be dependable and flexible. By terms of the government contract, employees must be able speak/understand English and be a U.S. citizen. Must have a clean record and will need to pass a background check (National Agency Check) provided at no charge. If you have convictions or a criminal record, you will NOT pass the background check.
Services include but not limited to: Aircraft wash, Aircraft interior cleaning and Trash removal. Lavatory and Fleet services.
The aircraft wash service requires cleaning and scrubbing of the aircraft with extension poles/pads and brushes, rinsing exterior of aircraft with fire hoses. Cleaning and vacuuming of the aircrew, passenger, and cargo areas. Monthly aircraft washes average 1-2 monthly (depending on government needs)
The Fleet service requires carrying and removing 5-gallon water igloo(s) up and down stairs/ladders of the aircraft, loading and removing expendable items.
Lavatory service requires draining, filling and sanitizing aircraft lavatories.
Military aircraft experience a plus but not required. The position is labor intensive and subject to various climate conditions.
Expected workload is 3-5 days a week, part time. Hours may vary according to government needs for service.

Job duties
- Washing the interior/exterior of the aircraft, as part of the corrosion control process.
- Coordinate and work with military personnel to provide excellent customer service.
Requirements
- Must be flexible to fit the demands of the military’s fluctuating schedule.
- Must be able to carry and lift up to 50 lbs. or more at a time.
- Must be able to be on your feet up (8) hours a day or more.
- Must be able to be able to climb ladders and carry up to 5 gallon bucket simultaneously.
- Must possess valid driver's license
- Must be able to successfully complete a background check
- Will be required to provide proof of social security as required by E-Verify.
