What are the responsibilities and job description for the Grounds Crew- Seasonal position at Starlight Theatre?
Starlight is gearing up for new shows and events and we are looking for energetic and hard-working "Stars" to join our Operations team as Grounds Crew!
The Grounds crew works with our Horticulture grounds team, maintaining the landscape throughout the 16-acre theatre. The grounds crew also works closely with the Facilities crew, sharing the responsibility for the daily operation and physical appearance of Starlight Theatre, for restoring the venue to tip-top shape after events, setting the facility for the next event, and for day-to-day maintenance.
This role is primarily an outdoor job with a variable workweek schedule of three to four days per week, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., but these hours may vary depending on weather, events, holidays, and other factors. (Maximum 30 hours per week).

Required Accountabilities & Deliverables:
- Embraces Starlight’s mission, vision, and values.
- Hand-watering, planting, mulching, weeding, and plant and flower garden maintenance.
- Soil testing, pruning, transplanting, propagation, and fertilizing application.
- Lawn care (mowing, trimming, blowing/vacuuming, etc.) and other green-industry tasks.
- Ability to properly operate, care, and maintain hand and power tools, including small engine repair and fueling requirements relevant to the above tasks.
- Waste recycling, collection, and disposal.
- Assisting other Operations and Facilities team occasionally.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.

Preferred Skills and Abilities:
- Able to work independently and as part of a small but critically important team.
- Must be self-motivated, flexible, and a problem solver.
- Willing to work a demanding schedule that includes early mornings, days, weekends, and holidays up to 30 hours per week with strong time management skills.
Preferred Education and/or Work Experience:
- General grounds and landscaping maintenance.
- Knowledge of laying out landscaping plans preferred but not required.
Other Working Conditions:
- Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Ability to use ladders up to 30 ft. and work comfortably at heights exceeding 25 ft.
- May need to crawl, crouch, balance, stoop, kneel, or stand for long periods.
- Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
