Position Overview
We are seeking dynamic and caring individuals to join our team as Direct Support Professionals (DSPs). DSPs provide daily, individualized care to clients in their homes or state-licensed facilities. This role involves assisting with personal care, daily living skills, community integration, and health-related tasks to ensure the safety and well-being of each client.
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly Rate: Up to $14.00 per hour based on experience
- Pay Schedule: Weekly payday

Schedule
- 12-hour shifts: 3 days on, 4 days off
- Day Shift: 8 AM – 8 PM
- Night Shift: 8 PM – 8 AM
- Weekends as needed
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide daily, individualized care to clients, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Assist with personal hygiene, grooming, feeding, ambulation, medical monitoring, cooking, cleaning, and other daily living tasks.
- Follow individualized care schedules based on each client’s Individualized Program Plan (IPP) and behavior support plan.
- Support clients in developing daily living skills and community involvement.
- Transport clients to medical appointments, shopping, and recreational outings (must be an “approved driver” per company policy).
- Document all care activities, including daily records and incident reports, accurately and on time.
- Implement crisis intervention procedures and respond to emergencies as needed.
- Provide guidance, teaching, and assistance to clients in skill development and social interaction.
- Use augmentative communication devices or other means of communication as needed.

- Be a positive role model and demonstrate acceptance of all clients and their behaviors.
- Represent Starlight Behavioral Health positively in the community.
- Uphold clients’ rights and privacy at all times.
- Complete all assigned duties and shifts as directed by supervisors.
- Follow all Starlight Behavioral Health and ncgCARE policies.
- Attend all required staff meetings and complete mandatory training.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to pass a WV Cares Federal Background Check.
- Must have reliable transportation (day shift employees only).
- Commitment to working 12-hour shifts as scheduled.
