Job Description
Essential Job functions:
- Measurement & fitting of Orthopedic Braces and other associated products.
- Implements patient/caregiver teaching during the initial set-up and at any additional follow-up calls
- Ability to make necessary modifications and to fit the client.
- Set-up of all equipment in the facility.
- Performs environmental safety factors listed on the Patient Plan of Care.
- Must be knowledgeable in the following areas:
- Use and care of the Products
- Fitting problems and how to solve them
- Equipment usage and maintenance
- Infection Control (Use of Universal Precautions)
- Patient Rights and Responsibilities
- Company's services and availability
- Patient Plan of Care and Follow-up
- Advance Directive Policies and Procedures
- All Patient oriented paperwork
- Performs other duties as assigned
Physical Job Requirements: - list any lifting requirements, etc.
- Physical mobility, which includes movement from place to place on the job, taking distance and speed into account.
- Physical agility, which includes ability to maneuver body while in place.
- Dexterity of hands and fingers.
- Endurance (e.g. continuous typing, prolonged standing/bending, walking).
Environmental Risks:
- Allergens: dust, mold and/or pollen
- Combative Patients / Visitors
Education, Certification, Computer and Training Requirements:
- Required Education High School Degree or Equivalent *unless located in a state that requires licensing Preferred Education BA or BS Degree Athletic Training, A.T.C. C
- Certified Orthotic Fitter, C.O.F. DME or orthoses related medical experience
Travel:
- Travel to other locations as needed by the department.
