We are seeking a meticulous and organized Lab Technician to join our team at JLABS in the Texas Medical Center and play a crucial role in our data collection efforts.
Job Summary:
The Lab Technician will be responsible for the accurate and efficient processing and data collection using our proprietary spectroscopy-based device. This role involves meticulous data collection, adhering to strict Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), and maintaining detailed records. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with our data science team.
Hourly rate: $22-$27 depending on experience
Responsibilities:
- Performs established experimental workflows analyzing clinical samples with basic analysis techniques (e.g. UV-Vis spectroscopy, dip-sticks, etc.)
- Receive, label, and prepare samples according to established protocols.
- Perform routine quality control checks and maintain accurate records of quality control data.
- Adhere to strict Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and standard operating procedures (SOPs) throughout all laboratory activities.
- Maintain organized and accurate laboratory records, including sample logs, data sheets, and equipment maintenance records.
- Work closely with the data science team to ensure seamless data transfer and analysis.
- Set-up, operation, routine maintenance, and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment.
- Maintain an adequate inventory of laboratory supplies and reagents.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean and safe laboratory environment.

Nice to Have
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, Medical Technology, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience working in a laboratory setting, preferably with experience in clinical or biological research laboratories.
- Experience working with human biological specimens.
- Strong understanding of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
- Experience with UV-Vis spectroscopy or similar analytical techniques is a plus.
